The Guest Bath of our Dreams.
As soon as we stepped into this beautifully spaced large guest bathroom we could see it had so much potential. What once was a dark and dated space, has now been transformed into a room full of light and timeless luxury. This bathroom renovation’s main focus was to bring in more light and an overall update to provide our clients’ guests with the feeling of staying at a glamorous hotel.
To begin, we knew we wanted to add a beautiful wallpaper to the main space of this bathroom. We were specifically looking for something with a gold foil and beautiful detail. The chosen wallpaper is from Rifle Paper Co. by York Wall Coverings, featuring a beautiful design that reminded us of a tuscan getaway. We then paired the detailed wallpaper with a matte white oversized subway tile and a new laminate countertop that suited the needs and budget of our client perfectly.
We were so on board with repurposing the existing sinks, but updated them by adding un-lacquered brass faucets from Kingston Brass. We really loved the traditional details in the faucets chosen and felt they worked perfectly with the wallpaper.
Focusing on bringing more light into the space, we sourced beautifully detailed vanity lights and sconce lights while ensuring the light pay-off was substantial due to the lack of natural light in this room.
To avoid a full bath/shower reno, we went with a more cost-effective solution to update the existing tub space by creating a bespoke shower curtain, strategically hung to completely cover the tub/shower unit. This created a much more visually pleasing space without a full renovation of a space that was still purposeful.
For the final decor, we really wanted to accentuate the beauty and originality of the wallpaper. A large arrangement of faux olive branches placed in a concrete vase was a perfect mix of texture to the glam space. Playing off of adding more texture, we also sourced beautiful jute rugs from a local store in Perth. We absolutely loved the grounding element these rugs provided as well as the visual. For the final touch, we hung a beautiful framed piece of art from our client's collection in between the mirrors.
Despite this room being ‘just a bathroom’ we loved going all out on the decor elements and brought an overall sense of luxury that we were striving for, taking this ‘just a bathroom’ space to an absolutely beautiful hotel bathroom in our client's home in Perth, ON.
Let this amazing bathroom transformation be the reminder that you deserve to love every room in your home, let's create it together.
